What will I be doing?

As a Sommelier/ Outlet Manager, you are responsible for managing outlet operations, recommending wines and having a thorough and current knowledge of wines to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Sommelier/ Outlet Manager will also be required to manage, train, and develop team members, assist in achieving department targets and work within all budgeted guidelines. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest
  • Manage Outlet operations
  • Recruit, manage, train and develop the outlet team
  • Provide professional and current knowledge of wines to guests
  • Recommend wines to accompany relevant dishes to patrons
  • Describe and up-sell wines to provide excellent customer experience
  • Drive sales to maximize budgeted revenue
  • Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to Food and Payroll
  • Maintain exceptional levels of customer service
  • Develop menus with other members of Food and Beverage team and suggest wines to accompany menus in line with financial budget ,
  • Accountable for monthly stock takes - Incentivise team members to maximize sales and revenue
  • Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strive to achieve departmental targets
  • Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated
  • Be environmentally aware
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Attend training provided by the hotel

  • Management and/or supervisory Food and Beverage experience

  • Willingness to develop team members and self
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situation

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
  • Previous experience in a customer service role in the hotel/leisure/retail sector
